An mp3 player touch, like the iPod Touch and the Creative Zen Touch, are quickly becoming the most popular type of portable music device on the market.
We have always had a draw to truly hands-on experiences. Before mp3 players even existed people craved touch screen technology, and it was often portrayed in sci-fi films as some thing of the future. I suppose the future is now.
There are features and applications one could come to expect now when they set out to purchase a new portable player. While some have maintained the sensible 1-8 Gig range for space, many more are trying to see just how much space they can fit on the general size of a credit card. This has opened the door to store more than music. Many players now come with software to save pictures and video and play them back.
With this incredible storage comes another standard feature. The player itself will double as a portable hard drive to store and save files, as well as transport them from one computer to the next.
Apart from the standard features, companies have found it necessary to go beyond simple playback of files and give the consumer applications to make their device use all the sweeter.
For instance, such applications might include: a voice recorder, games, and the latest in camera technology. These features are a draw in themselves because it limits the amount of things someone might have to take somewhere with them.
This makes the player itself more versatile for the on the go person to keep with them.
It's safe to say that in the race to outdo themselves, touch mp3 players are not done. Touch screen navigation is simply the beginning, and I would urge anyone considering a touch mp3 player to at least go try one out. There are styles and options that can fit comfortably to anyone's needs or preferences. Happy shopping and oh yeah... Welcome to the future.
